Terms & Conditions
Terms for using Open Tinnitus peer support.
These terms exist to protect people using the platform, the volunteers who give their time, and the integrity of the support being offered.
Purpose of the service
Open Tinnitus is a peer support service for people struggling with tinnitus and the emotional burden around it.
No harassment or abuse
Harassment, threatening behaviour, sexual misconduct, hate speech, intimidation, manipulation, or abusive conduct toward volunteers or other users is not permitted.
Not crisis intervention
This is not a crisis intervention platform. If you are in immediate danger, feel unable to stay safe, or require urgent mental health support, contact an appropriate crisis or emergency service in your own country instead.
Volunteers and responsibility
Open Tinnitus is run by volunteers who genuinely want to help. Every volunteer is checked by the founder before taking part.
No medical advice
We do not provide medical advice. Nothing on this platform should be treated as medical guidance, diagnosis, or treatment.
Protecting your identity
You are responsible for protecting your own identity and personal information. Using your real name is not required and is generally not suggested unless you understand that doing so may make you identifiable.
Booking access
If you breach these terms and conditions, we may block your account or otherwise prevent you from being allowed to book meetings through the platform.
